Week 6 – Nuke Roto

During this week I learned about rotoscoping in Nuke. Rotoscoping is a process of manually drawing masks around objects in the footage. I decided to draw multiple small masks around each body part instead of making one big mask. When I was done with the rotoscoping I also applied erode and blur node to smooth out edges around the mask.

I am not satisfied with my final work. Some details are missing such as shoelaces and some parts of the mask edges look distorted. However, I am not aspiring to be a roto artist and although it was an interesting task I am looking forward to be doing something else in Nuke.
